Cesare Battisti barracks restoration
Home / Projects / Cesare Battisti barracks
The restoration project of the military complex of the Cesare Battisti Barracks focuses on the Musso building. The building presents a generalized deterioration, due to a bad state of maintenance of the rooms in disuse and to localized episodes of capillary rising damp.
The intervention aims at the functional transformation of the building, as well as at its restoration. The structural intervention, specifically, aims to achieve the seismic retrofitting of the building according to NTC 2018.
The building is in load-bearing masonry and the floors are supported by masonry vaults. On the other hand, the pavilion roof is made of timber.
The necessary interventions have been defined following an extensive campaign of investigations, including essays on masonry and floors, which allowed to achieve an exhaustive level of knowledge (LC3).
