New gym for an high school in Pisa
Home / Projects / Matteotti gym Pisa
The building consists of three structural units: entrance, locker rooms and gymnasium. The gym is a rectangular building made of XLAM and laminated timber columns. The roof is also made of a network of laminated timber beams and platform frame floor. On one of the longitudinal sides there is a timber grandstand for spectators which can be accessed via lateral stairs. The entrance and locker rooms, located on either side of the gym, have a braced steel structure instead.
The foundations of the whole complex consist of a ribbed reinforced concrete slab with ventilated plastic formworks.
