Riese Primary School
The project deals with both the seismic improvement of an existing building (Block A) and the construction of the new extension to the east (Block B).
Block A is a two-storey masonry structure, with brick floors and pavilion roofs with wooden trusses.
Block B is a reinforced concrete building, built after the demolition of an existing one. It consists of two structural units: the school, two floors above ground, and the canteen, one floor above ground. The resistance to vertical actions is entrusted both to the pillars and to the walls while the resistance to horizontal actions is almost exclusively entrusted to the walls.
